Getting to the Wedding
There is no public transport to our wedding venue.
Guests can make their own way there and back — consider carpooling, have a sober driver! — OR if you are staying in Auckland, we will have a shuttle bus do a return trip to and from the venue. Time and location details TBC.
At this stage, we can’t guarantee that the shuttle will do drop-offs along the way back to Auckland.
Due to the rural location, any taxis must be pre-booked. If you need assistance with this, send us an email.
Where to stay
South Head is a rural location, an hour outside of Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).
We’re able to offer a limited number of glamping-style yurts (sleeps 6-8) on site, or you may enjoy staying nearby in Shelley Beach or Helensville. Alternatively, opt for Auckland city accommodation. As far as neighbourhoods go, you may enjoy Grey Lynn, New Market or Mt Eden for their proximity to the central city.
On-Site Cottages
Reserved for immediate family. This will be coordinated directly.
On-Site Yurts
A small number of on-site yurts have been made available for guests who would like to stay close to the celebrations. As availability is limited, these have been allocated in advance.
Auckland
There are a bevvy of options for folks travelling to Auckland for the wedding. As far as neighbourhoods go, you may enjoy Grey Lynn, New Market or Mt Eden for their proximity to the central city.
Nearby towns
Shelly Beach – Same location as the wedding venue, 2-3 minute drive with verrrry limited accommodation options.
Parakai – ~18 minute drive from the wedding venue, several accommodation options (Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking)
Helensville – ~22 minute drive from the wedding venue, several accommodation options (Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking)
Huapai / Kumeū – ~35 minute drive from the wedding venue, >10 accommodation options (Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking)

Wedding Gifts
We don’t want things, we just want good memories — your presence is the best gift.
However, if your love language is gift giving (or you can’t make it and feel bad), we won’t say no to cash.

Kids
Unless your offspring is currently breastfeeding or is one of Tim and Alice’s niblings, book a babysitter and leave them at home.
If you’re travelling with children and need help getting a babysitter OR need a free pass, email us and we’ll be happy to help.
Travel
Flying to New Zealand
If you’re travelling from overseas, AKL (Auckland International Airport) is the closest airport to our wedding venue.
Depending on your trip, CHC (Christchurch International Airport) services Te Waipounamu (the South Island) and you can make your way north in your own time.
Visas
If you are not travelling on a New Zealand passport, check if you need a visa or an NZeTA.
If you are stopping off on your journey down under, check all stop off visa requirements, even if you’re just transiting.
Customs & Biosecurity
If this is your first time in Aotearoa, please note that New Zealand customs and biosecurity requirements are pretty hardline. Clean your shoes before hopping on your flight and don’t bring in any fruit, vegetable, animal, or plant items.
Flying Within New Zealand
We recommend booking all internal flights with Air New Zealand. You can fly with Jetstar, but be aware they’re very strict on baggage weight.
